Walter is the son of the late Harry Carter and Ida Chellis Carter of Kingston, Janice is the daughter of the late Roger Holmes and Nellie West Holmes of East Kingston. After high school Walter jointed the Maritime Service and also served in the United States Army. After being discharged he married the love of his life Janice Holmes and they celebrated 66 years of marriage and raising their 7 children in Kingston before retiring in Largo and Oakhill Florida, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren. They are survived by 3 daughters, Candra Carter and Kerry Fisherkeller, Dawn Carter Robertson, Jayne Carter, 3 sons Grant and Donna Carter, Cory and Barbara Carter, Layne and Robin Carter, 1 sister Buffy Carter Bruce, pre-deceased by 1 daughter Sherry Carter and 1 grandson David Kirsch, also the following siblings, Winifred Carter Wentworth, Dorothy Carter Light, Earl Carter, Dorothy Holmes Montrose, Robert Holmes, Fred Holmes, Edith Holmes Helm, and Claire Holmes Schwartzer
A graveside service will be held on Monday August 2, 2021, 11 am at Greenwood Cemetery, North Road, Kingston, NH. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life and Lunch to follow at Kingston Vets' Club 36 Church St. Kingston where Walter was one of the founding members and 1st president. In lieu of flowers donation maybe made to the Kingston Historical Museum.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
