FREMONT-Agnes Murphy, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Sat., September 4, 2010 in Fremont, after a period of failing health.
She was born on September 1, 1921 in Ballydonegan, Allihies, County Cork, Ireland to Catherine and Denis Sullivan. In April 1947, she traveled to New York, NY, and happily spent the next 60 years in New York City. On June 26, 1954 she married Timothy (Ted) Murphy and spent the following years as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to laugh and dance and was happiest when looking after her family and friends.
Agnes is survived by her two children: son Timothy Murphy of Manchester, and daughter Denise Harrington of Fremont, as well as her son-in -law Kevin Harrington and grandchildren Maureen, Kristen and Sean Harrington. She was predeceased by her husband Ted. She was also predeceased by her sisters Catherine Roche, Johanna Heneghan, Peg Dennehy, Sr. Denise, Bridget Cadogan, Lil Dennehy, and brothers John and Eugene Sullivan. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Epping, for the last three years, and prior to that she was a communicant of St. Margaret of Cortona Parish in Riverdale, NY for 30 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 13, at St. Margaret of Cortona, Riverdale, NY.
