Albert C. Hoyt
Center Hill, FL - Albert C. Hoyt, 86, of Center Hill, Fla., passed away on May 24, 2019 at Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Fla.
He was the son of the late Albert E. and Pearl (Frazier) Hoyt. Al lived a good part of his life in Plaistow, N.H.
Al answered the call to service with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His passion was always working on or operating tractors and equipment as a young man. In the 50's he and his father built Hoyt City Shopping Plaza and Pine Tree Gift Shop in Plaistow, NH. He worked for his father at Calbert Farm Equipment and in 1962 started his own business as Al Hoyt, Jr. As years passed he brought his two sons into the business naming it Al Hoyt and Sons Inc. During his time in business, he served as Road Agent in Plaistow from 1970 to 1973. After handing the reigns over to his son's in the 80's he then opened a gravel pit known as Sandown Materials. Al's passions were his mini modified pulling tractor in which he acquired many trophies and his numerous amount of antique Ferguson tractors. After retiring, he and his wife built a beautiful farm in Florida complete with cows and multiple barns for his treasured tractors. Al was also known for starting his very own tractor pulls in Sandown, NH. Many knew him simply as "Pa".
Al will be sadly missed by his wife, Gail, of Center Hill, Fla.: his former wife and mother of his four children, Mary Hoyt, his sons, Mark and wife Teri of Center Hill, FL and David and wife, Kristina of Plaistow, NH: his daughters Joanne Collins and husband, Michael of Hampstead, N.H. and Diane Ranlett of E. Hampstead, NH: six grandchildren; Melissa Galloway, Timothy Hoyt, Jessica Hoyt, Ashley Hoyt, Shawn Ranlett and Shaylene Ranlett and nine great- grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Carole Hughes and her companion John of Sparks, NV.
A full service was held at the Florida National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by The County Honor Guard and the U. S. Army Honor Guard.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I have fond memories of visiting Al and Gail at there farm in FL when my dad John passed away. I will always remember his playful combination of graciousness and sarcasm. My thoughts to Gail and all of his family.

Never forget first time I met Al. He and another older friend delivered hay to me and I was questioning if they could get the hay into the loft. They did it masterfully. Really great guy.
