Anita D.'s Story
Anita D. (Libby) Still, 96, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2016 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by those she loved. She was the wife of the late Carroll W. Still, Jr.
Born in Amesbury on March 14, 1920, Mrs. Still was the daughter of the late John C. and Alice Libby.
Mrs. Still was educated in Amesbury and graduated from Amesbury High School. Her lengthy career at Western Electric began as a bench hand, and with hard work she was promoted to supervisor before her retirement in 1980.
Mrs. Still was a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school for ten years, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed wintering in Florida, and for 25 years split her time between her home and Northport, Fla. She and her daughter enjoyed working with the many horses they had maintained at Tristam Farm.
Mrs. Still is survived by her daughter, Betsy Ann Kimball and husband, Dan of Atkinson; grandson, Eric Kimball and wife Nina of Atkinson and great-grandsons, Logan D. Kimball and Tristan A. Kimball. She was the sister of the late Miriam Libby.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, November 22nd, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Atkinson Congregational Church and was followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Groveland.
