HAMPTON FALLS, NH: Betty M. Emilio, 93, died on November 8, 2014, at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, N.H. She was born in Beverly, Mass., on October 5. 1921, and was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Florence (Bradley) Maxner. Formerly of Escondido, Calif., and North Danville, N.H., Betty had been a resident of Hampton Falls since 1978.
She was raised in Beverly, Mass., and was a graduate of Beverly High School. In her younger days, she enjoyed sailing in Salem and Beverly Harbor. Betty loved entertaining and cooking for guests, and she also enjoyed sewing and knitting. She and her husband, Philip, took many trips cross country to various locations in their Airstream trailer. In later years, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Philip L. Emilio Sr. in 2004; and her son, Philip L. Emilio Jr. in 2010. She is survived by one daughter, Marcia K. Gagne and husband, Bruce, of Hampstead, N.H.; one son, Gary V. Emilio and wife, Sue, of Melvin Village, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Kevin Gagne, Lisa Charest, April Gagne, Christopher Emilio, Meredith Batchelder, Marcy Emilio, Philip L. Emilio III; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Maxner of Falmouth, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, at 1:30 p.m., at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, N.H.
