FREMONT — Carol (Westerback) Rich, 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, with her closest family members by her side.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., in June of 1935, daughter of the late Carl and Beatrice (Woodburn) Westerback, sister of the late Janet Arnold, where she graduated from North High School, Class of 1953. She raised five sons before becoming the Children's Librarian, then Head Librarian at Nichols Memorial Library in Kingston, retiring in 1996 after more than 20 years of service. She then moved to Fremont after living in Kingston for 29 years.
She was the widow of Lawrence H. Rich. She leaves behind sons, Lawrence Rich and his wife Christine, Carl Rich, Todd Rich and his wife Deb of New Hampshire; daughter, Leslie Thompson and her husband Brian of Virginia; grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Tina, Tom, Katie and Michael Rich and Janet and Sheila Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ava and James Rich. She was predeceased by her two sons, James and Michael.
ARRANGEMENTS: The family will be holding a private graveside memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Nichols Memorial Library, Imagine More Fund, in Memory of Carol Rich, 169 Main St., Kingston, NH 03848.
