ATKINSON, N.H. — Charlotte P. (Benoit) Jefts, age 95, of Moab, Utah, longtime resident of Atkinson, N.H., died early Sunday morning, Jan. 23, 2011 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab, Utah. She was the wife of the late Lawrence R. Jefts.
Born in Haverhill, Dec. 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mamie (Roy) Benoit and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1933 and attended Bentley College.
During World War II, Charlotte worked with the American Red Cross and subsequently went to work at Western Electric, where she eventually retired.
She was an active member of the Holy Angels Church of Plaistow and was a member of the Haverhill Poetry Club and the Haverhill Art Association.
Her survivors include three daughters, Francine Lehmann and husband Frank, Jr. of Hampton, N.H., Bonnie C. Wilcox and husband Sidney of Moab, Utah, and Andrea N. Armany of Haverhill; a son, Oliver L. Jefts and companion Cynthia Webb of Deerfield, N.H.; five grandsons, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill will be Friday, from 2 to 7 p.m. Springtime interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
