HAMPSTEAD, NH: Dana William Black, 70 of Hampstead, N.H., passed away Wednesday December 30, 2015, in Hampstead, N.H. He was born in Bath, Maine, on May 30, 1945, to Alton C. Black and Fern (Nickels) Black of Lynn, Mass. He was raised and lived in Lynn, Mass., and then moved to Danville, N.H., in 1979, with his family. He made Hampstead, N.H., his final home town. He had been a long-time member of the Teamsters Local 42. He loved the outdoors and tinkering with things. He enjoyed being a member of the Plaistow Fish & Game Club in Plaistow, N.H., for many years. He spent time with family and friends in Harrington, Machias, and Cherryfield, Maine, on many hunting trips and summer vacations.
He is survived by daughters, Deborah Black of Manchester, N.H., Suzanne Black of Hampstead, N.H., and Jennie Fitzpatrick of Londonderry, N.H. He will be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Travis, Sarah and Justin Fitzpatrick, children of Jennie and Richard Fitzpatrick; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard Black and Sharon Welch of Lynn, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews of his two brothers, and their children. He also leaves his former wife, Kathleen Perry of Manchester. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Black and grandson, Max Owen Fitzpatrick.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Tuesday January 5, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
