EASTHAM, MA: Edward J. Byron Jr., formerly of Kingston NH, Marlboro MA, and Waltham MA, died peacefully at home with family on August 23,2015. He was born on February 14, 1943 in Concord MA to the late Edward J. Sr. and Mary Frances (McGuire) Byron. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years Martha E.(O’Neil) Byron.
Ted was a graduate of Waltham High in 1962 and from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1966. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965-1972. He had a long career in retail advertising and marketing and was the Director of Advertising and Marketing for Rich’s Department Stores for many years. Following retirement he had his own computer and marketing business. Ted loved nature and was an ardent birdwatcher. He was an accomplished photographer and a self taught jack of all trades. There was anything he couldn’t create or fix. Ted and his wife enjoyed traveling the world, visiting western and eastern European countries as well as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, China, Japan and Russia.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are his three children: Mark E. Byron of Upton MA; Adrienne M. David of East Hampstead NH; Timothy M. Byron and his family, Katie Bergeron and Emma and John Bergeron. He had one grand daughter, Miranda E. David of East Hampstead NH. Ed is also survived by his brother Kevin S. Byron and wife Elayn of Sterling MA and his sister Judith Schachner and husband Robert of Swarthmore, PA, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held September 5, 2015 at 11am at the Kingston 1686 House in Kingston NH. Donations may be made to VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 434 Rte 134, suite D-3, South Dennis MA 02660.
