KINGSTON - Irving L. Swett, 95, died August 9, 2010 at the Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA, after a period of failing health.
He was born August 17, 1914 in Kingston, son of the late Daniel and Anna (Winslow) Swett.
Irving was a longtime resident of Kingston. He enlisted into the United States Army and served during WWII. After his return to this area, he worked at Christie's Poultry Farm, then Lagasse's Furniture Store, and Amesbury Furniture before he retired. Blessed with an excellent mechanical aptitude, he kept the generator and the tractors running while working at Christie's Farm.
He was pre deceased by his longtime companion, Helen West, who died in 2008.
He is survived by his brother, Franklin Swett and his wife, Shirley (Tracey) Swett, of Derry, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors were held on August 12, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston.
