Joanne I. Stevenson

Sebastopol, CA — Joanne Irene Marie (Williams) Stevenson, 74, born November 26, 1938, the daughter of Emily (Doucette) Williams and Charles Shackley Williams of Haverhill, MA, died August 5 in her Sebastopol, CA home, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Joanne was predeceased in death by her husband, Bob of 48 years, also of Haverhill, who died in 2006, as well as her parents, Charles and Emily; brothers, Leo, Charles Jr., and Arthur Williams; and mother-in-law, Phyllis Stevenson.

From the early 1960s until 1990 Joanne and her husband, Bob, raised their family in Rockingham County NH, in Newton, Kingston, and East Kingston. From 1977 to 1983 Joanne and Bob operated the Quick Shop/Sleepy’s Pizza & Subs on Route 125 In Kingston. In 1990 Joanne accepted a job transfer from her employer, Hewlett Packard, and she and Bob relocated to Rocklin, CA, where they loved being close to all of their children, exploring the west cost, and relaxing together while bass fishing. Joanne retired from Hewlett Packard in 2000. In 2008 she was blessed with the birth of triplet grandchildren and she soon moved to Sebastopol, CA, to be closer to them. Her last years were filled with much joy. She loved her grandchildren and they loved their Nana very much.

Joanne is survived by daughter, Robin Hobbins and husband, Mark and grandchildren, Sierra, Aidan and Kailey Hobbins, Sebastopol, CA; sons, Arthur, Rocklin, CA, and Robert Jr. and partner, Richard Aragundi, Santa Rosa, CA; siblings, Carol Goodwin, Haverhill, and Robert Williams, Bradford; father-in-law, William Stevenson, Bradford; sister-in-law, Roseanne Minondo, Plaistow; and extended family throughout New England.

ARRANGEMENTS: Joanne will be interned along with her husband, Bob, at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park in Sebastopol, CA.
