PLAISTOW, NH: Joseph Albert Emmells, 78, of Plaistow, NH, passed away on December 27th, 2015 with his family by his side. Al, as he was known to his friends, and Pepe, as he was known to his family, served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He served his country proudly residing in many places, including England and Guam. After retiring from military service, Al began a 20 year career at Raytheon in Andover, MA, retiring in 1995.
Upon retirement, Al took up many hobbies. He was active with the Fish and Game Gun Club of Newton, NH. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, tending vigorously to his garden, and building things in his workshop. Pepe was an important pillar in the Emmells family. He educated, told jokes, and most of all loved his wife, daughters, and grandchildren with everything he had.
Joseph Emmells is survived by his soul mate, his wife of over 58 years, Carolyn (Huntress) Emmells; daughters Patricia Glover and her husband Michael; Cheryl Carey and her husband Michael and Donna Emmells, all of Plaistow; a brother, Leo Emmells and his wife Mary Ellen of Amesbury, MA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Robert Florentino and his wife Kristen; Erica (Glover) Jerrier and her husband Derick; Nicholas Florentino and his wife, Amy; Rebekah Carey; Joshua Carey; Mikaela (Emmells-Greene) Toth and her husband Thomas, and Peter Greene. Pepe found great joy in his ten great-grandchildren and he will be missed by Zachary, Aryana, Dominic, Bella, Nova, Brielle and Ronan Florentino, Matthew Greene, Brody Beers and Cameron Jerrier.
Private funeral services will take place in the spring and a celebration of his life will follow.
