Lawrence's Story

Lawrence W. Nason died March 16, 2009, while living in San Marcos, CA. He was born in Exeter, on January 13, 1929, the son of Irving and Eva Nason of Kingston.

He attended Kingston Schools, graduating from Sanborn Seminary class of 1947. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, Larry was drafted into the Army. He served in Korea at the 1st Medical Field Hospital as a medical lab photographer. Upon returning to New Hampshire, he served in the reserves until 1960.

Larry owned and operated the Exeter Flower Shop from March 1957 through March 1998. He was a charter member and past president of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce. Larry was a member of F.T.D. for 40 years, during which time he served as past president of Unit 1 C and district representative of the F.T.D. NH Unit. He was a member of the board establishing the horticulture department of the Regional Vocational School in Exeter and taught floral design classes.

Larry leaves his wife of 57 years, Lorraine Marcotte Nason, formerly of Dover, a son Robert Nason and his partner Raymond Morin of Tustin, CA, a daughter Kathilyn Nason Teague, her husband Robert Teague and grandsons Bryce Teague and Brody Teague, and step grandchildren Bryanna, Brandon and Brooke Teague. He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Nason in 1950.
