Madeline Marshall, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home in East Kingston. She was the daughter of Frederick and Madeline Smurrage. Born in Rockport, she graduated from Gloucester High School in 1953 and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1987 with a BS in Nursing.
Madeline worked for many years as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, the V.A. Hospital and, after retiring from nursing, worked as office manager in her daughter's law firm in East Kingston. Madeline's favorite pastime was spending time with her family and caring for the family home.
Madeline is survived by her husband of 58 years, Philip Marshall; two daughters, Keri Marshall and her husband, Dr. Peter Mahar of East Kingston and Kemea Thompson and her husband, Christopher Thompson of Eastham, Mass. Her family includes two granddaughters, Erin Molly Mahar and Jennifer McLane; an almost-grandson, Shane Conlin and a great-granddaughter, Madeline McLane.
ARRANGEMENTS: Madeline's family invites her friends to join them in refreshments and a celebration of the life of Madeline at Marshall Law Office on 47 Depot Road, East Kingston on July 22, 2015, between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m.
Donations in Madeline's memory may be made to the East Kingston Fire and Rescue Department.
