EAST KINGSTON, NH: Madeline Marshall, 80, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home in East Kingston. She was the daughter of Frederick and Madeline Smurrage. Born in Rockport, she graduated from Gloucester High School in 1953 and Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She graduated from UNH in 1987 with a BS in nursing.
Madeline worked for many years as a nurse at Mass General, the V.A. Hospital and, after retiring from nursing, worked as office manager in her daughter's law firm in East Kingston. Madeline's favorite pastime was spending time with her family and caring for the family home.
Madeline is survived by her husband of 58 years, Philip Marshall, two daughters, Keri Marshall and her husband, Dr. Peter Mahar, of East Kingston and Kemea Thompson and her husband, Christopher Thompson, of Eastham, Mass, and two granddaughters, Erin Molly Mahar and Jennifer McLane, an almost-grandson, Shane Conlin and a great-granddaughter, Madeline McLane.
Donations in Madeline's memory may be made to the East Kingston Fire and Rescue Department.
