Kingston, NH — Mary Louise (Meeks) Rodgers, longtime resident of Kingston, N.H., and recently of Haverhill, Mass., passed away on May 11, 2014 after a long illness. She was born on April 2, 1939, in Epping, N.H., the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Edna E. Meeks Sr. She graduated from Tilton High School with the class of 1957. She spent most of her life in Kingston where she was well-known and well-loved.
Mary worked for many years at D.J. Bakie School in Kingston and later on at Hampstead Dry Cleaners in East Hampstead. At those two jobs and the places in between, she made many friends with her outgoing personality and near constant smile. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother and always put her family first.
Mary will be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit and outgoing manner. She was a free spirit who loved to be on the go, whether it was a trip to the beach, dancing with her friends, or simply going out on a drive in Kingston with the windows down and the radio up. She made friends everywhere she went and was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Forrest F. Rodgers Jr.; her two brothers, Samuel G. Meeks Jr., and Almon C. Meeks; and a sister, Adeline (Meeks) Jenkins. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer L. (Rodgers) Ward and her husband, Kelly of Sandown, N.H.; two grandsons, Alex and Nicholas Ward, also of Sandown; two sisters, Lillian (Meeks) Smith and her husband, Harry of Shalimar, Fla., and Karen (Meeks) Lyle and her husband, Frank, of Littleton, Colo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends. She touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all.
Heaven got a new angel today and the place will never be the same.
