MILFORD, N.H. — Mildred L. (Knight) Watkins, 80, of Milford, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. She was the wife of the late Jesse A. Watkins, who died in 1997.
Mrs. Watkins was born Aug. 16, 1930 in Milford, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Mabel L. (Trautwein) Knight. She was a lifelong resident of Milford and a graduate of Milford High School.
Mildred devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by two sons, Robert G. Watkins and his good friend Meg McElroy, both of Hopedale, and Ronald L. and his wife Rebecca Watkins of Plaistow, N.H.; two sisters, Carol A. and her husband Anthony LaPreste and Judith E. Barton, all of Milford; four grandchildren, Jason and his wife Olivia Watkins, Joshua Watkins, Jeremy Watkins and Sara Watkins; two great-grandsons, Jason Watkins Jr. and Nathan Watkins and two nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Donald R. Barton.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford. Burial will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery, Cemetery Street, Milford. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 from 3 to 5 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral in the funeral home.
