Nancy (Doyle) Lowry
Nancy was a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a light to all who knew her. She lived each day with joy and her joy was obvious to all she met. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, walking on the beach, boating, and travel.
She was passionate about studying the Bible and sharing the Good News. Nancy will be remembered as someone who always did the right thing and encouraged others to do the same; she was often seen picking up trash along the road and helping turtles safely cross the street.
Nancy was born on Dec. 2, 1956 in Boston, to the late Henry E. Doyle and Catherine (Tierney) Doyle. She grew up in Hamilton, MA and graduated from Hamilton Wenham Regional High School in 1975. She then attended Westfield State University, graduating in 1979. Following graduation, she began a career in business, first working in risk management at the former Bank of New England, then as Vice President of UNITIL a regional utility company. In 1992 she gave up her career to become a full-time mom. After her children had grown, she returned to work at Free Christian Church in Andover, MA. Never one to sit on the sidelines Nancy was both a leader and a "worker bee" in the community, she taught Sunday School, was a Den mother, Girl Scout leader and a leader at Community Bible Study.
Nancy leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Daniel G. Lowry; three children, Megan Lowry and her wife, Katherine Joyce of Toronto, Ontario, Patrick Lowry and his wife, Anna Lowry of Beverly and Christopher Lowry of Kensington, N.H.; her mother, Catherine Doyle of Madison CT; siblings, Henry Doyle of Novato, Calif., Michael Doyle of San Jose, Calif., Timothy Doyle of Healdsburg, Calif., Maryanne Scarfo of Gilford, Conn. and Denise Lee of Clinton, Conn., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were on August 13th at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover, MA 01810. A memorial service was held at Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street Andover, followed by burial at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in West Boxford.
