Alfred, ME - Nancy E. (Schenck) Holt died peacefully at her home, with her family by her side on Monday, February 24th.
She was born on July 19, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pa. The daughter of Harry and Eleanor (Warfel) Schenck. She was raised and educated in Philadelphia and graduated from Olney High in 1955. Nancy lived in Plaistow, NH for more than 20 years before moving to Newton, NH and finally to Alfred, Maine. She was an incredible gardener who took great pride in her flower gardens, and in raising her four children. Nancy had a variety of talents such as polka dancing and even modeled for products in Newsweek Magazine in the 1950's. She was an incredibly kind and gentle spirit to all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
She is survived by her four children, Donna Matson of Alfred, Maine, Laurie Aspinwall and her husband, David of Danville, NH, Wendy Castiglione and her husband Paul of Derry, NH, and Gary Holt and his wife, Racquel of Plaistow, NH. Loving grandchildren; Erik Matson, Zachary Matson, Christian Matson, Matthew Aspinwall (who predeceased her), Hannah Aspinwall, Katelynn Hunter, Joshua Castiglione, Bailey Holt, and Taylor Holt; three great-grandchildren. She remained good friends with ex-husband; Gerald Holt. brother-in-law, Paul Marggraf, and a niece and several nephews.
Private graveside burial with family will take place in the spring.
