Patricia's Story

KINGSTON, NH: Patricia (Holt) Bartlett died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, resulting from a brief struggle with mental illness. The complexities of her illness were sudden and surprising, yet not defining of her faith, hope and love. She was born on April 24, 1962 in Woonsocket, R.I. to Beverly and Howard Holt.

Patti's infectious joy was visible to all who saw the sparkle in her eyes. Passionate about serving others, Patti was a consistent source of encouragement. She had a quiet way of advocating for and partnering with lost souls. She was gifted with sensitivity and empathy.

A champion of physical fitness and nutrition, Patti loved to be in self-propelled motion on fields, roads, trails and water. Her focus on personal goals was admirable, and her competitiveness was balanced by her graciousness in victory or defeat, (although it was usually victory.)

Patti enjoyed both the solitude of nurturing her gardens, as well as camaraderie of drumming and playing music with friends. Her tender heart for animals was celebrated by every cat that ever lived with her.

Patti graduated from North Smithfield Jr. Sr. High School, Unity College, and Springfield College.

For many years, Patti was employed by Synergy and Exeter Hospital, caring deeply for her Wellness clients in cancer recovery.

Two of the greatest evidences of the good in the world that Patti produced are her daughters, Kiah and Aidan. Their inner strength, commitment and love were modeled by their mother's perseverance and grace. Their love for each other will not be limited by earthly boundaries.

Patti and her husband, Greg Bartlett, shared many years of love and joy. Their many activities and adventures together included mountain tops, ocean sails, whirling bicycles, fine foods and serving shoulder to shoulder in their church and community. The dedication and care they exhibited to each other is an encouragement to all.

Patti was predeceased by her parents and sister, Tamara.

Patti is survived by her husband, Greg; daughter, Kiah Taylor and her husband, Mike of Fort Fairfield, Maine; daughter, Aidan Wiggin of Sellersville, Pa.; step-daughters, Gillian and Lauren Bartlett of Kingston, N.H.; sister, Pam and her husband, Gary Kane of Arlington; sister, Kimberly Holt of Wakefield, R.I.; brother, Curtis Holt and his fiancee, Danielle Bouliane of Chepachet, R.I., and many nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Patti's life was held at the First Congregational Church in Kingston, on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The family encourages expressions of love to be shared by a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or the Pastoral Care Fund at the First Congregational Church in Kingston, in Patti's honor.
