Ralph H. Millard,

SANDOWN: Ralph H. Millard, Jr., 85 of Sandown, N.H. died Tuesday November 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 25, 1930 in Haverhill a son of the late Ralph H..Millard, Sr. and Gertrude (Smith) Millard. He graduated from Haverhill High School, where he played basketball and baseball. He grew up in Bradford, Mass. and Sandown, N.H. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict, and retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1986 as a Planner and Estimator. After retirement he worked as a para-educator at Whittier Vo-Tech. He was active in his childrens' and grandchildrens' school sports programs.

He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Jayne (Hawkins) Millard of Sandown; three daughters, Deborah Matranga of Haverhill, Marcia and Rosemary Millard of West Chesterfield, N.H.; and two sons, Robert Millard of Sandown, and Keary Millard of Boston, and their spouses. His stepchildren, Shauna Haggerty, Rex Haggerty, Rhonda Ceazza and Leah Stucker, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Gertrude Burleigh; a son, Bruce Vallant and daughter, Jamie Vallant and by a grandson, Tyler Millard.

Following cremation, friends may call on Sunday November 22, 2015, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the East Hampstead Union Church, 225 E. Main St., East Hampstead. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has asked to make a donation in his name to the East Hampstead Union Church, P.O. Box 109, East Hampstead, NH 03826.
