Richard R. “Scotty” MacGregor, age 80, of Plaistow, passed away peacefully Tues., July 6, 2010, at Wingate @ Haverhill Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA.
He was born in Melrose, MA, and grew up and was educated in Nova Scotia, Canada. He was a resident of Plaistow for over 40 years, having lived in Wells, ME for 12 years.
Scotty was a retired machinist for Baileys Corporation in Seabrook. He also worked for many years for Joe McKinnon’s International as a diesel mechanic. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Plaistow Fish & Game Club, the American Legion in Plaistow, and the Grange of So. Hampton. He loved fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his dog.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Marion Galluzzo. He was also predeceased by his brother and sister James Galluzzo Jr. and Gloria Carrier.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly (Moulen) MacGregor of Plaistow; his loving daughter PattiJo and her husband Greg Hayes of Plaistow; his sister Barbara and her husband Bob Tondi of Methuen, MA; his sister-in-law Judith Galluzzo of Salem; two adoring grandchildren, Daniel and Lauren Hayes of Plaistow; and several nieces and nephews.
