Brentwood, N.H. — Robert Gabriel Jomé, of Brentwood N.H., passed away on December 13 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Manchester, N.H. after a courageous battle with cancer.
Son of Corinne Jomé and the late Gabriel Jomé, Bob was born July 27, 1944 in Waltham, and was raised in Maynard. A longtime resident of Brentwood N.H., he cherished his time surrounded by his loving family, and was widely known as a selfless giver who offered to everyone that knew him a helping hand in some way. He will be remembered by all as a dedicated father, a loyal friend, a hardworking colleague, and someone whose unique expressions and humor brought laughter to all those around him.
He enjoyed the New England outdoors, and could be found fishing the lakes of Maine, sailing along the shores of Massachusetts, skiing the slopes of Vermont, and ice boating on the lakes of New Hampshire. Over the years, he also enjoyed his time spent at the local stock car tracks by watching/filming races and helping out pit crews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served in Vietnam.
Bob retired in 2011 after celebrating 40 loyal years as a certified gas fitter with the same local company.
Bob will be sorely missed by his three children, Monique Jomé Ricker, Michelle Jomé and Gerald Jomé; his sister, Francine Robinson; his niece and goddaughter, Colette Robinson Murphy; and his longtime companion, Joan Schaedel. He was “Pepere” to four grandchildren, Gabrielle Ricker, Madeleine Ricker, J. Dawson Ricker, and Kaden Erlandson. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Alan Jomé and Doug Jomé.
ARRANGEMENTS: A gathering for friends and family to celebrate Bob’s life will be held after the holidays.
