PLAISTOW, NH: Robert (Rob) S. Walden passed away on December 4, 2014 after a long illness. Rob was the beloved friend and husband to Cheryl Boetti Walden. He was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Milner) Walden and born in Newburyport. Along with his wife he leaves behind his brother Joseph Walden of Merrimac; daughter, Veronica Walden of Rural Retreat, Va.; stepdaughters, Emily Holmes of Dover, N.H. and Kimberly Nims of Manchester, N.H.; stepsons, Curtis Mathews and Joseph Mathews in Virginia; his uncle, Bill and aunt, Janet (Milner) Morse of Durham, N.H.; cousins in the Exeter, N.H. area, 10 grandchildren and much loved friends Charlie and Marie Colby of Newbury, along with so many other who will remember him and will miss him.
Rob served for 20 years in the Army and the Army/National Guard. He retired in 2006 as Sergeant First Class and was very proud of his service to his country.
Rob will be remembered at a Remembrance Luncheon on January 25, 2015, at the VFW Post 1088 on Route 125 in Kingston, N.H. from 12 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Robert's name to: The Plaistow NH Firemen's Association, Rockingham County VNA in Brentwood, N.H. and to Anne Steele or Vivian Brown at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, N.H. These are the folks that took such good care of Rob when he needed it most and any amount of donation will help them to continue to serve others.
