WINDHAM, N.H. — Roland J. Houle, 89, of Windham, N.H., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born and educated in Lawrence. He lived in Windham for the past seven years, previously living in Epping and Salem, N.H.
Mr. Houle was a self employed carpenter. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II. He was a life member of the Salem Memorial VFW Post 8546 and a member of the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, and camping.
He is survived by five daughters, Claire and Gilbert Armstrong of Raymond, N.H., Dolores "Dolly" and Robert Dennis of Salem, N.H., Janet and Charles Curtis of Haverhill, Linda and Daniel Bresnahan of Windham, N.H., Marylou and Robert Anderson of Windham, N.H.; four sons, James and Diane Houle of Derry, N.H., Thomas and Elizabeth Houle of Salem, N.H., Gerald Houle of Franklin, N.H., Richard and Sandra Houle of Salem, N.H.; two sisters, Gladys Gallant of Salem, N.H., Pearl Neveux of Lowell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H. Calling hours will be Thursday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087.
