DANVILLE, N.H. — Mrs. Rosemary V. (Feck) Caldwell, 77, of Danville, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at her home.
Born and raised in Melrose, daughter of the late Edward and Vela (Edwards) Feck, she graduated Melrose High School and was also a resident of Arlington. She attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Simmons College, Boston.
She was employed for several years at the former Keezer Manufacturing Company in Plaistow and in 1971 co-founded ETC Mailing Services with her late husband, John and was the CEO of the company at the time of her retirement.
A longtime resident of Danville and an active participant in town government, Mrs. Caldwell formerly served as the Town Clerk and Tax Collector as well as a member of the Board of Selectmen and Budget Committee. She also served for many years as the Secretary of the Old Meetinghouse Association.
An avid reader who also enjoyed writing, gardening, and tennis, she was also an accomplished artist in water colors. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
The widow of John "Jack" Caldwell, she was also predeceased by her son, U.S. Navy Lt, JG Mark Caldwell in 1983 and her brother, Lou Feck.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John E. Caldwell and Laurie Poshpeck of Danville, with whom she made her home, and James R. and Christina Caldwell of Danville; four grandchildren, James R. Caldwell, Jr., Katlin M. Caldwell, Grace S. Caldwell and Charlotte R. Caldwell; two nieces and two nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2010 from, 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Danville Baptist Church. Burial will take place in the spring at Meetinghouse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lt. JG, Mark Caldwell Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 537, Danville, NH 03819.
