Ruth A. Killey

October 18, 1926 - February 03, 2012

Ruth Audrey (Lawrence) Killey, age 85, of Plaistow, New Hampshire, died peacefully at her home on Friday morning, February 3, 2012, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Haverhill, October 18, 1926, daughter of the late Fred G. and Priscilla M. (Woodbury) Lawrence, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1944 and went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. On April 2, 1949 she married the love of her life, Robert F. Killey and they were the proud parents of three children.

Ruth had an incredulous singing voice and was known for her love of singing. She sang with the choir at the First Baptist Church of Plaistow, where she was music director at the Vacation Bible School, as well as with the Timberlane Choral Society, Bradford Pentucket Choral and Lawrence Choral Arts. In her lifetime she was a Girl Scout Leader in Plaistow, a member of the Haverhill Women's City Club, and a volunteer of her crafts and knowledge of knitting and crocheting. Above all, she was a woman of great faith, integrity, true love of life, family and friends, and most gracious hostess. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband of almost 63 years, she leaves her children, Patricia A. Killey of Plaistow and William B. Killey and wife Debra J. of Salem, MA; three granddaughters, Tara Killey, Julia Killey and Suzanne Killey; two great-grandsons, Maximilian and Michael Paulino along with several nieces and nephews of the Stewart Family. She was predeceased by her son, James L. "Ahboo" Killey, who died September 25, 2008.
