Thomas Bleakley, 76, of East Kingston, formerly of Newton, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Exeter Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born February 12, 1938 in Montreal, Quebec, a son of the late Herbert and Barbara (Smith) Bleakley.
Thomas was raised in Montreal and attended Rosemount High School. He moved to the United States in 1964 and raised his family in Newton, N.H.
Thomas worked as a packaging designer for Bicknell & Fuller of Peabody for 34 years before retiring in 1998.
Thomas was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Amesbury Country Club. He was a Boston sports enthusiast, especially the Red Sox and Patriots and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in local youth sports.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Barbara Clark and husband, James of East Kingston and Michelle Corey and husband, Daniel of Severna Park, Md.; his son, Scott and wife, Kimberly of Brentwood; a brother, John of Montreal, and 10 grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his brother, William of San Diego, Calif.; and a sister, Margaret of Montreal, Quebec.
A private memorial service was held on Thursday, August 28, at the Brewitt Funeral Home of Exeter, N.H. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, www.donate.heart.org.
