Atkinson, NH — Tom passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester. Tom was born on October, 30, 1940, at Clover Hill Hospital in Lawrence, Mass., as the only child to Hugh Clinton and Evelyn (Forcier) Clinton. Tom graduated from Methuen High School in 195
9, and was a member of the undefeated Methuen High School Football Team during his senior year. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and later received his associate degree in business administration from Burdett College in Boston, leading him to a successful career in sales. Tom was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Lynda, for 46 years.
Tom loved to spend time with his family and friends, where he would insist on cooking large meals and generally entertaining guests at his home in Atkinson, or at his Winnipesaukee Lake home. Tom also enjoyed various hobbies and activities, such as hunting, fishing, woodworking, and watching classic films from the 1940s onward. Tom was always one who offered to help out others, as witnessed in his retirement years, through volunteer efforts for a variety of veterans’ causes and elderly assist services.
Tom was survived by his wife, Lynda (Lewis) Clinton, also of Atkinson; his son, Timothy; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Olafsen; his precious granddaughter, Nora; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
His family and friends will miss him dearly, and fondly remember the loving, humorous and giving man that was our Tom.
ARRANGEMENTS: At his request, no formal services will be held. A small private burial will take place at the family’s convenience in the New Hampshire State Veterans’ Cemetery in Boscawen.
