ATKINSON, NH: Thomas Missert of Atkinson, N.H., passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was the beloved husband for 59 years to the love of his life, Betty Missert. He was loved dearly by all his children, Debbie (Mickey), Jim (Mary), Pete (Karen), Tom (Deanna), Paul (Carolyn), Mark (Mary); and was cherished by his 12 grandchildren, of whom he was always very proud.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on July 18, 1931, to Charles and Serena Missert. Buffalo always held a special place in his heart. He attended the University at Buffalo and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. When he returned, he began a 30-year career at the Ford Motor Company, Woodlawn Stamping Plant in Buffalo, N.Y., while living and raising his family in Hamburg, N.Y. His retirement from Ford in 1991 was short, as he began working at the Water Valley Inn Restaurant in Hamburg, N.Y., which is owned by his son, Jim and managed by his daughter, Debbie. In 1999, he decided to move to Atkinson, N.H., to be closer to his grandchildren. He began another career working at Canobie Lake Park for 15 years, until August 2015, as an Inventory Control/ Purchasing Administrator. He loved his time at Canobie Lake Park and all the friendships he made there.

Tom had many friends, who will always remember him for his big heart, service to others, infectious smile, fun stories and most of all for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.
