William H. Brooks

Kingston - William H. Brooks, 95, died on December 16, 2023, at All American Assisted Living in Kingston, NH.
He was born on October 23, 1928 in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Lester F. Brooks and Helen R. (Hogan) Brooks.
As a boy, William enjoyed many adventures in his West Roxbury, MA neighborhood where he spent many hours during the summer at a local swimming hole with his school chums and his dog, a Border Collie, Buddy who lived to be 16. He also enjoyed visiting his grandparents who owned a large Bed and Breakfast in Errol, NH where they sheltered and fed many loggers who came down from Quebec, Canada to work during the busy season.
William served in the United States Navy Reserves and was Honorably Discharged in 1952. He had a full career as a Risk Management Engineer for Traveler's Insurance Company in Boston, MA, as well as working independently for them after his retirement.
He was married for over 60 years to the late Alberta (Ferragamo) Brooks. They met on the dance floor of Moseley's on the Charles where it was love at first dance! They lived most of their lives in a home they had built as newlyweds in Pembroke, MA where Alberta worked for 30 years as a lead cook at the North Pembroke Elementary School. She was also an avid tennis player, a talented artist, a fabulous Italian cook, and gardener during the summer. When he wasn't doing insurance surveys for Traveler's Insurance, William enjoyed working around his yard which was meticulously manicured, carving birds out of wood, working with stained glass and going out to eat with his wife and friends. They visited their daughters and grandchildren frequently, but will always be remembered for the mountains of Christmas presents they bestowed on them at Christmas Time. Together they enjoyed many activities including traveling, square dancing, taking their children and later grandchildren to Duxbury Beach near their home and in New Hampshire, Jenness Beach in Rye as well as Water Country and Disneyland in California.
William is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Symmonds and her husband Michael of Epping, NH, and Geraldine Titcomb and her husband Andrew of Valencia, CA; 4 grandchildren, Kelly and Adam Symmonds, and his wife Lily and Benjamin and Claire Titcomb; four great-grandchildren, David, Aubrey, Beatrix, and Zachary Symmonds; his brother James Brooks and his wife Gerrie of GA; his sister, Carol Brooks Mollica of Wrentham, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH is assisting the family.
